BTR connections for
older CNC's
Our behind the tape reader
(BTR) link connects a PCs parallel printer port to your CNCs tape
reader interface. In operation, the CNC runs in the TAPE mode,
just like it's reading data from its tape reader. This is an easy
way to enhance an older NC or CNC with nearly unlimited memory,
full screen editing, subprogram calling, and decimal-point
programming. If your PC is networked, the BTR connection also
lets you run files directly from the server. The downside: A
parallel BTR cable can only be about 15 ft. long, so the PC must
be located near the CNC.
